~I received a copy of Resurrection Season 1 for review. Opinions and stories are my own.~
It takes a lot to compel me to watch a television series anymore and I’m sure that goes for a lot of you. Personal time, especially for parents, seems to shrink each day and what time we do get we want to make sure it is spent well. That being said, Resurrection stole my curiosity with the first Season 1 trailer and had me sucked in within the first 15 minutes of the show. It’s honestly captivating, both the story as well as the incredible acting by Frances Fisher (Lucille Langston), Kurtwood Smith (Henry Langston) and Matt Craven (Sheriff Fred Langston).
If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching Resurrection or haven’t heard of it yet, let me give you some background information. The series is co-produced by ABC and Plan B Entertainment and is based off the book The Returned by Jason Mott. It premiered in March of this year and in May we all got to hear about how there would be a Season 2!
Resurrection shares the ultimate story of what would happen if you were given a second chance. When a young boy (Jacob) who had drowned over 3 decades ago miraculously is returned to his parents the exact same age he was 30 years ago, it throws the lives in small town Arcadia, MO into conflict. But he was only the first and as more deceased return tensions mount and the race to find answers before the entire town goes up in chaos becomes desperate.
The Complete First Season released on June 20th and if you haven’t seen the show yet, I honestly believe you should pick it up. The DVD includes all 8 Episodes from Season 1 and has many great Bonus Features, including:
- Resurrection: Building A Mystery – The show’s stars share their theories about the mystery at the heart of the series – how are the town’s loved and lost ones returning home to their families – and why?
- On Location in Georgia – Filmmakers and cast reflect on the place Resurrection calls home.
- Bloopers
- Deleted Scenes
