The weather is getting nicer and Spring is finally in the air with our first 80 degree day here in Wisconsin today! I feel like running outside, frolicking through the yard and shouting from the rooftops. I just love this time of year so much!
But before the fun begins, I have to prepare myself for the sunshine and outdoor elements. I’m here to share with you today some of my favorite summer beauty products to kick off the season!
Skin and hair
Of course SPF sunscreen and Aloe lotion are a must, but what about the hair? I know not everyone has that perfect hair that some of us only dream of! Me, well I have curly hair that is somewhat on the thick side. My hair is nothing less than completely unmanageable in the humidity, so I need products that can keep that frizz in check whether I wear my hair naturally curly or straighten it with a flat iron.
Lips and brows
I’m not much of a make-up person in the summer because I sweat it all off anyway. But I definitely gotta have lip gloss in all sorts of fun colors! Confession time – I don’t pluck or wax my eyebrows either! I know, imagine that! Instead, I use this handy little brush to shape them. Luckily I don’t have a uni-brow, huh?
Pretty toes
No, I lied. I honestly think there is nothing pretty about feet and quite frankly, they disgust me. I believe that if you’re wearing flip flops or cute little strappy sandals, your toes must be painted and presentable. But, that’s just me.
Start off with the little pumice stone brushes you can get, a nail file (and clippers if needed) and get those feet in tip top shape. Finish the toes off with a fun splash of color and perhaps some cute little nail art stickers.
So there you have it, my summer beauty essentials. I’ll even let you in on a little secret. I got everything you see here for around $25 at Dollar General – no lie. They’ve got some pretty awesome prices on name brand as well as private label products to start your summer off right! You can shop in store or online, whichever is easiest for you!
You’ll want to make sure to connect with Dollar General through their Facebook and Twitter social channels as well because that’s where they share all of their exciting announcements!
