Mornings are a bit crazy in my house. Big Bro and my littlest brother get up around 6am and head off to work and school shortly after. I usually hear the door slam around 6:35, then again at 6:40. Once in awhile, they’ll leave the kitchen door open and the kitten will sneak into this side of the house and start meowing at my door. Or if my door is open, he’ll jump on the bed, then start purring and kneading at hubby and I. 7am hits and my alarm is going off to get up for the day, take the dogs outside and wake Lil Man up for school. Are you exhausted yet?
I would have to admit that 75% of the time, no one eats breakfast before leaving the house. They either grab a quick snack to take with them or eat breakfast at school/work. Often, my brother will skip it all together. But lucky for my growing boys, I just found something that will help start their mornings right – Tyson? Day Starts? sandwiches.
These Tyson? Day Starts? sandwiches are a first in Tyson Foods line of breakfast items and offer a protein-rich way to start the day. Each sandwich is chocked full of real cheese, eggs, veggies and meat. The best part is, they’re ready in less than 2 minutes – right out of the microwave. The kids can pop them in, do part of their morning routine for 2 minutes, then sit down to a nice hot breakfast.
There are 7 different varieties available in form of biscuit sandwiches, wrapped omelets and breakfast flatbreads. The two varieties we tried were the Sausage Egg & Cheese Biscuits and Egg, Cheese & Bacon Breakfast Flatbreads.
Lil man chose the Sausage Egg & Cheese Biscuit for breakfast yesterday morning and he really enjoyed it. He said it tasted homemade and asked if I’ll buy them again – which of course I said I would!
Tyson? Day Starts? sandwiches are perfect, because even if he’s running a little behind one morning, I can still pop one in the microwave for him and it’ll be ready when he’s heading out the door to the bus stop. I also found this as a great way to get the other two boys to eat breakfast because they’ve eaten one the last two mornings in a row!
I usually either make a large breakfast for my FIL and I, or skip it all together and wait until lunchtime. This morning however, we were down to 2 eggs, which I needed for our meatloaf dinner. I’m generally a skeptic of frozen foods; the family loves them, but me, not so much. But I was hungry, so I thought that I would give the Egg, Cheese & Bacon Breakfast Flatbreads a try.
I threw one in for my FIL, then another for me. Of course, I let him be the guinea pig and try one first! I asked him how it was and he said “pretty good”, so once mine was done cooking, I gave it a try. i bit into it and was very pleasantly surprised and the amazing taste! Honestly, it didn’t even taste like it came from the freezer. Instead, it tasted like something that I’d have whipped up in my own kitchen.
I was quite impressed with these Tyson? Day Starts? sandwiches, to say the least. They’re quick, easy and affordable – just how I like things, The fact that they actually taste great, sold me and we’ll be stocking these in the freezer all the time now!
