Minecraft is a fast growing popular video game for computers and game consoles, from young to old you will find many have come to love Creepers, Steve and the Squid. It’s a fun game that is purely for entertainment purposes with a side of education in growing food, gathering food and building homes. I usually tell people it’s similar to an online Lego block building world where the imagation and creativity never stops. For those who have been bit by the Minecraft bug, I am here to share with you a fun way to incorporate your love of Minecraft into a warm weather birthday party or special event for the kids.
Birthday Express offers a variety of green and black color options for you to create this DIY Minecraft theme party. For this particular party setup, you will need the following items:
- Emerald Green and Lime Green Solid Color Party Pack for 24
- Lime Green Paper Straws
- Green and White Whirly Pops
- Green Apple Candy Sticks
- Green Sixlets Candy
- Green Stripe Party Favor Boxes
- Steve and Creeper masks
- Lime Green Cone Party Hats
If you want to add a personal touch to the party hats, you can print off a Minecraft character face and tape or glue to the front of the party hat, as show in image above. The green stripe party favor boxes can be filled with goodies for your children’s friends to take home or simply used as decor.
Steve cardboard mask can be used for later play during the party, but he can start as a table top decor item. Shown above are the Creeper party hats I created using the lime green cone party hats from Birthday Express. You can use the candy sticks and whirly pops as a treat for the party, or use them for the party favor boxes.
The straw holder shown in the above image is by far my favorite table topper for our Spring Kid’s Minecraft Party. I took an old vase I had sitting up in the cupboard, placed the sixlets candies at the bottom of the vase, took the lime green paper straws and placed them carefully into the sixlets within the vase. I then added a side touch of decoration by placing a whirly pop with the straws.
For additional color alterations you can use the black and green chevron colored party supplies at Birthday Express. To complete your DIY Minecraft party, you could setup food to simulate items from the game. This Pinterest post shows you how to create food supplies for your DIY Minecraft party.
