Imagine my surprise when I opened the box from Litehouse and found not only their new OPA Greek Style Yogurt Dressings but they also included some wonderful other products. I was very excited, to say the least. I love to cook and I had the opportunity to make several different things using their products.
Let’s start with their their new OPA Greek Style Yogurt Dressings. I had the opportunity to try all four flavors, OPA Blue Cheese, OPA Caesar, OPA Feta Dill and OPA Ranch. The Feta Dill, Ranch and Caesar I tried on different tossed salads and I liked them all. My favorite, however, was the Caesar. These dressings are wonderfully thick and do not have a diet aftertaste at all. You can tell that they are a little bit different than regular dressings but they still taste great!
My husband and I also had a homemade wing night and I was able to try the OPA Blue Cheese with my Buffalo flavored wings and it was AWESOME! Henceforth I will be using only the Blue Cheese dressing whenever we have a wing night. It was that good! Even my husband liked it and he’s not a very big fan of blue cheese dressings to begin with.
My favorite thing about these dressings, as I am fighting the never ending battle of the bulge, was that they are half the calories of regular dressings. They do not have that icky “diet” taste to them like many lite dressings have. I really appreciated that as I seem to have a very sensitive palette. OPA is gluten and sugar free (except for the OPA Caesar which has 1 g of sugar). It has not artificial preservatives and can be found in the refrigerated produce section of local grocery stores nationwide.
I also had the pleasure of trying their Instantly Fresh Herbs and I was not disappointed! When I opened the bottles I was amazed at how wonderful and fresh they smelled. Add just a little bit of water and VOILA! you have fresh herbs. I used the chives on a baked potato, the Italian in my homemade spaghetti and the Basil for a veggie pizza. They all tasted wonderful and looked very aesthetically pleasing on my food, especially the Italian in my spaghetti sauce.
?Their Vinaigrette’s are just as wonderful. They made great marinades on my boneless skinless chicken breasts and tasted great on my salad. I’m a HUGE Balsamic Vinaigrette fan, being from the East Coast and all, so I was very happy to have been able to try this dressing.
