Stan Lee’s Mighty 7: Beginnings is produced by Stan Lee Comics, a joint venture among Genius Brands International, Stan Lee POW! Entertainment and Archie Comics, and is the first in a trilogy of feature-length films premi?ring on The Hub Network and supported a licensing profane to include digital comic books, toys, apparel, and video games.
It’s the day and age of the comic book turned digital media and this girl loves it. Okay, the rest of the family does too and we just happen to be big fans of Stan Lee’s work. Spider-Man is one of my favorite characters out there, so when the opportunity for Sonshine and I to review the newest venture by Stan Lee arose from Cinedigm, we were beyond excited!
Stan Lee’s Mighty 7: Beginnings is the first of three feature-length animated comic movies that will be airing on The Hub Network. Stan Lee stars as himself in the movie and is plagued by writer’s block, which I for one, cannot believe, that guy has so many great ideas! Off he goes for a drive in the desert when he comes across seven aliens who have crashed-landed on Earth.
Stan finds himself swept up into the chaos that is seven aliens and agrees to harbor them at his Malibu beach house, due to the fact they are being followed by the top-secret military forced led by Mr. Cross and the evil reptilian, Taegons.
The Mighty 7 are the perfect new characters to help break his writer’s block, but first, Stan must help them become a team. With seven different personalities along with seven different abilities, this doesn’t prove to be the simplest tasks to first manage. These characters are a bit more relatable than some of the more established super heroes out there, plagued with insecurities with their appearances and self-esteem issues. Through work and with help from Stan Lee, the group grows together to develop their powers and team work and become Earth’s newest team of superhero fighters!
The movie boasts quite a few impressive voice talents: Sean Aston, Armies Hammer, Mayim Bialik, Christian Slater, Teri Hatcher, Darren Crisps, Jim Belushi, Flea, Michael Ironside, and Stan Lee as Himself! It’s actually the first time Stan Lee has written himself into a show as himself, but he’s well known for his cameos in movies and TV shows as other characters, janitors, street vendors, and the like. .
