This cute and quick craft was made for my kids St. Patrick’s Day school party.
Layer the candy any way you want. I layered mine to look like a rainbow. Tie the ribbon around the lid, glue the topper to the top.
Done and super cute!!
Here are other ideas I have:
Easter – line the jar with Peeps and fill the center with jelly beans, or just use all jelly beans. So many pretty Easter ribbons out there and top with a bunny or a chick.
Mother’s Day – Any candy will do!! Pretty spring colors for the ribbon with a flower topper.
Graduations – M&Ms in school colors. Matching ribbon and a diploma or cap for the topper.
Father’s Day – Dad’s favorite candy, use his favorite color for the ribbon, or theme (sports, fishing, cars, tools, etc.). Depending on theme, match a topper.
Fourth of July – Red, white and blue M&Ms. So many ribbons to chose from – stripped, stars, flags. You could secure a flag to the jar with the ribbon.
Summer parties – base it on your theme. Pool colors (seasalt taffy), beach (tan and blue M&Ms) watermelon (red M&Ms with a few brown added for seeds), cookout (layer M&Ms to look like a cheese burger with all sorts of toppings), etc.
Back to School – red candy, back to school ribbon with an apple topper.
Halloween – Orange, yellow and white M&Ms or candy corn. So many ribbons to pick from and a spider for the topper.
Thanksgiving – fall color candy or M&Ms, or peanuts. Pretty fall colored ribbon with a turkey as a topper.
Christmas – green and red M&Ms (or get really creative and make it look like a Christmas tree with lights), ribbon with Christmas theme and stocking for a topper. Another great candy would be the mini ribbon candy.
Hanukkah – blue, white and silver M&Ms with hanukkah ribbon and a dreidel for the topper.
Winter – blue hues and white M&Ms, snowflake ribbon and a snowflake (or snowman) topper.
Valentines – red, pink and white M&Ms, heart ribbon and top with lips or hearts!
See the possibilities are ENDLESS! So start creating cute treats today!
