The ice mold is right on the front side and water just dribbles through, freezing to form the ice. Once the mold is full of ice, it drops right into the basket underneath.
Once your basket is full, just take it out, use the scoop to chop the pieces up a bit and pour into your bag. We actually pour ours into the ice dispenser in our freezer since we don’t have a water line hooked up to it. This way we can get ice for our cups all the time, right from the dispenser!
