Learning Emotional ABC’s With Moody

As an educator I love finding new helpful educational products. I recently received the Emotional ABC’s Activity Kit/DVD to review. This DVD/Activity Kit, gives children (ages 4-9 yrs) a strong foundation in basic emotional skills. Emotional ABC’s stars Moody, a cuddly monster that helps children learn how to regulate their emotions. Multiple studies have shown that children that can effectively regulate their emotions have more chance of academic and social success.

Children are not taught how to work through complicated emotions.  The program shows your child (and you) WHAT TO DO.

Step 1: Watch the DVD with your child.  The video held  my 3 and 8 year-old’s attention, even my infant was amused by Moody.

Emotional ABC’s consulted therapists, psychologists and occupational therapists about best-practice techniques of managing emotions to come up with this outstanding program that I have been using with both my daughters.  I feel that with repetition and consistency we will be able to overcome these emotional outbursts.  Even as an parent it will make you reflect on your parenting skills where emotions are concerned.  I would recommend this program to anyone who has or works with children.
