You only have a few weeks left to find the perfect gift for your friends and family. I find kids can be tricky to shop for. You want to get them something that they will enjoy but you also want to get them something with some educational value. Getting a great toy that offers both educational elements and fun can be hard but thanks to curators from zoos, aquariums and science centers who recommend their favorite items to Museum Tour you at least have an amazing place to start your search!
Already known for its fall catalog that is mailed to 2 million homes, Museum Tour’s online store boasts award-winning educational products that extend the museum experience into the home. Best of all, Museum Tour offers grownups an option to hone in on the learning style of each child.
To make things easy you can shop online for each child by age or grade from preschool through high school. There’s even an adult section for multi-generations to enjoy together! How cool is that! They help you take some of the guess work gift shopping!
Museum Tour was founded on the belief that a child will want to learn if presented with toys that have been created with both education and fun in mind.

Sure it might just look like a normal sand box but it is far from it! So exactly what is it? You can form “sand” into hard durable shapes and with a soft touch it breaks apart. Non-toxic and antibacterial, Living Sands won?t stain and easily removes from hands. It has a feeling of super soft dough feeling yet it is totally dry to the touch. It is one of the softest yet easiest to form materials I have ever played with!
Both my girls played with it together for over an hour (which at that point they started arguing so I had to put it away). I think they really enjoyed the texture of it and how easy it was to make stuff with it.
ABOUT MUSEUM TOUR The
Museum Tour website and catalog is the brainchild of a former museum
director. As a former educator and president of the Oregon Museum of
Science and Industry, she recognized a need for enjoyable, easy to
communicate teaching aides to assist parents in fulfilling their role as
primary educators. After all, in every generation parents, aunts,
uncles and grandparents have taken on the responsibility of insuring
that the children become contributing members of society. But the
training tools they used were found in the kitchen, garage, and
farmyard. Today, to compete globally, we need modern props (that are
rapidly changing) to assist our children’s learning. The Museum Tour
website and annual catalog make it easy for adults to create enjoyable
learning opportunities for children beyond the museum and science center
walls.
We have an annual pass to our local science center and I love that so many of Museum Tour’s products play off what we are learning at our center. I could get stuck browsing on their site for hours. So many great ideas! Take a look at their website for yourself and see what all they offer and start crossing some people of your shopping list!
