It is hard to believe that Mary Poppins came out 50 years ago! I just love that Disney is remastering the classics and re-releasing them so that younger generations can enjoy them. I will admit that I had never seen Mary Poppins before receiving this DVD. One time about 22 years ago it was on TV and my brother and I begged to stay up and watch it. My mother said no and she told us she would rent the tape for us at a later time. We cried and argued but to no avail…we went to sleep having not seen Mary Poppins. Years went by and we never rented it either. At the video rental store she would ask us if we wanted her to rent that movie or some other movie that just came out. We always picked the other movie and now over the years it is a running family joke that my mother never let us watch Mary Poppins. I have officially seen it now and I absolutely love it. I can see now why it is considered a Disney classic.

This would be the perfect DVD to add to any collection. Kids and adults alike love this movie. I am saving it to show my daughters on our next family movie night. They will be so excited to meet new and exciting characters and they can see that animation and live action blended together can still be a fun movie to watch! The songs are so great that I catch myself singing them to myself when I am all alone. Bring a little magic into your homes this holiday season!
