I love Halloween. It’s one of the funnest holidays of the year and I get to decorate like crazy! I mean, who doesn’t love to decorate?! Each year we add a few things to our Halloween decor collection and this year I’ve even done a few DIY projects with things we had lying around the house.
I’ve shared how to make a DIY Werewolf Scarecrow and it really is super simple. Here’s what you will need.
- old pair of pants
- old flannel type shirt with long sleeves
- werewolf mask
- cheery tomatoes {for eyeballs}
- hay or straw
- raffia
- chair to have your werewolf scarecrow sit in
Gather all of your supplies and start stuffing the pants with the hay/straw. This is the fun part that the kids will want to help with! Make sure that you get them nice and full, leaving a little room in the waist area so that you can fit the shirt in. Then make the pants “sit” on the chair.
Next, set the shirt on top of the pants and tuck it in, then fill the rest of the pants and the shirt with hay/straw. The arms are a little trickier, so it might be best for an adult to do this part.
Next, put a stick into the top of the shirt, deep enough into the hay/straw so that it won’t fall out. Fill the mask with hay/straw, put mask on top of stick. Put cherry tomatoes in the eye sockets for a creepier effect!
Move the chair to a location of your choice and if you’d like to, put a weapon in its “hands”.
It’s super simple to make and the kids will have a blast helping!
Do you have any DIY Halloween ideas? I’d love to hear them!
