I’ve gotten a ton of packages lately. Ordering things for our beach trip, back to school stuff, etc. So with all of those packages came sheets of bubble wrap.
Aside from the obvious, what do I do with them? My dog has a fit when we pop them, so that is out. How about we paint them?! Turns out, it is really cool to paint bubble wrap!
It is also really really easy.
Here is all you need:
- Newspaper to keep your table clean
- Plain paper (the heavier art paper is best, but computer paper works too)
- Paint
- Brushes
- Bubble wrap
Now paint the bubble wrap (bubble side up!)! I painted a flower. Simone made something else. I’m not sure what. Lol.
Make sure you don’t take so long the paint dries – you aren’t done yet!
Once your picture is painted to your liking, place the plain paper on top and press down gently. I used my fist to pop the bubbles underneath. Mostly for fun, but I felt like I would get the best paint transfer if they popped. The dog wasn’t happy.
And voila!
I love how the dots of the bubbles turned into a new pointillism style painting.
Clean up is easy. Toss the bubble wrap and newspaper and let the picture dry! This is pretty foolproof for the toddler/preschooler set. You could even use finger paint on the bubbles.
Have fun!
