School is back in session and I swear, all that we’ve been doing for the past few weeks is shopping. There are just so many things the kids need, it’s unbelievable! Since Big Bro is now a “teen”, he wants to feel more grown up. I had to take him with me on each trip to choose his supplies, clothes and even his personal care stuff such as an electric toothbrush. It’s great that he’s showing his independence, but it makes me sad to know that my “baby” is growing up – too fast for my liking! So while gathering the last little bit of school supplies before school started, we shopped for a Phillips Sonicare PowerUp toothbrush so that he could feel all grown up.
He wanted to tear into the Sonicare PowerUp package the second we got home. I pretty much had to pry him away to get a “before” shot of his beautiful smile! Of course, the toothbrush had to come with, even though it was still in the package! I’ll admit, I was glad to see some excitement over brushing his teeth for once!
The package boasts “A month’s worth of brush strokes in a day” so of course I wanted to see if that was really true. I let Big Bro open the package as he totally insisted, but I snatched the Sonicare PowerUp before he could use it. I just wanted to see for myself what all the hype was about. It’s got a curved head that is raised in the middle so that it easily hits every little nook and cranny of your teeth. The bristles are soft enough and the big bonus – the brush head is interchangeable so you don’t have to dispose of the entire toothbrush once it’s time to replace!
Once I was done with my photos, Big Bro tore the Sonicare PowerUp toothbrush out of my hands and started brushing. I swear, getting him to brush has never been easier. He really liked the new toothbrush right away and made sure to brush twice a day {without reminders} for over a week. I was quite impressed and a little surprised that a toothbrush had more influence that I did! Check out this cool video on the evolution of toothbrushes and you just might want to switch to a power brush too.
Gotta brush that tongue! |
After a week of brushing, the Sonicare PowerUp toothbrush proved to me that it does a far better job than a manual toothbrush. Below are Big Bro’s “before and after” shots and if you look closely, you’ll see that his teeth look cleaner and whiter. This mama is definitely sold on the Sonicare PowerUp toothbrush and I’ll be buying more for the rest of the family. Priced at just under $20, they won’t break the bank either!
