I’ve mentioned before that we usually cook family meals at home every evening. With our large family, we just have to in order to stay on budget. Often, I look for easy meals or ones that don’t take a long time since I’m a busy working mama.
When I heard about Kraft Recipe Makers, I knew that I had to try them. One look at all of the delicious recipes made my mouth water. I originally had a different recipe that I wanted to try. That was until I saw the Kraft Recipe Makers Verde Nacho Casserole recipe on Kraft’s website. I make something similar on occasion, but this one looked and sounded amazing! After a stop at Walmart to shop for Kraft Recipe Makers and other ingredients, I was ready to start cooking!
Out of habit, I looked to the back of the box for directions even though the laptop was on the counter with a recipe right in front of my face. Yep, I’m silly like that! I noticed a recipe for Verde Chicken Enchiladas and decided that I have to make them for The Man next week. He loves the green sauce, so I bet these would be right up his alley!
Once I got back to the actual recipe that I was making, I browned the meat, stirred in the finishing sauce and followed the rest of the directions.
I sliced up olives, then gathered some jalapenos.
Once the meat was cooked through, I started layering my casserole as directed. I did make a double batch since we have a larger than normal family. It looked absolutely amazing and I couldn’t wait to see what it tasted like!
While I served one dish, I took the other aside to take photos. It smelled so good that I couldn’t wait to dig in!
By the time I had the photos done, everyone was almost done eating theirs. While I served up my plate, my family let me know that they absolutely loved it! They said it was better than the other casserole I make that is similar and requested that I make it again. Some of them even had seconds!
Overall, I found the directions to be easy to follow and the recipe to be quite easy to make. It didn’t take much time either. It’s great to serve for larger groups. I thought it tasted delicious and am definitely going to try some of the other varieties of Kraft Recipe Makers to make another great meal for my family.
