School is officially in session. It’s hard to believe but I am already thinking about fall and all the holidays that come with it. Labor Day Weekend is up next which for my family means a fun couple of days and nights with friends and family. As the kids are running around after dark, it can sometimes be hard to keep track of them. Whether you?re at a BBQ, neighborhood block party or out in the woods camping, keeping your eye on the kids has never been easier with colorful LED lights on each child from Nite Ize Innovation.
Boulder based Nite lze has created an assortment of colorful and bright LED lights that can be seen at a distance of over 200 yards. This helps increase visibility and safety while wearing them which can ease this Mama’s nerves just a little bit with any of our activities outside.
I was sent a few things to try out for me and my family.
The 2nd from the top in the picture is the SlapLit LED Slap Wrap. Think of it as a slap bracelet that glows. Kids not only like to play with them but they make it fun to wear safety lights. You can see in the picture below that the end sticks straight out a little bit where the button you press it to light up is. It did not bother me or Big Sis but I just wanted to note it is the only thing I did not like about these products.
With all of these they not only lite up but you could press it again and it would flash which is a great option if you prefer that. These products all seem well made and I had no problem getting them to work. They did not feel cheap or flimsy at all.
The Helmet Marker Plus is a great little one because it is so versatile you can put it anywhere! Put it on your kid’s helmet, bicycle or even their costume or trick or treat bucket at Halloween!
The reason it is so versatile is the little arms are bendable so you can wrap this little thing onto anything you want!
I am a runner and sometimes I do not get to run until after the girls are in bed which more often than not means it is dark outside. The Sport Belt is literally the perfect accessory to wear while running because I can be seen by anyone nearby which means that I should not be hit by a car and they can watch how pitifully slow I can run sometimes!

Any of these products would be great this Labor Day while your kids are enjoying the evenings playing outside. Kids love lights so they think they are a toy but in reality you are making them more visible and I know for me you can never be too safe. I will also be using ours on any evening walks we have since unfortunately there are no sidewalks in my neighborhood. This Halloween as I take the kids treating and my husband is passing out candy I will even wear the sport belt just to be extra safe. In reality you could probably come up with 100s of ways to use these LED products throughout the year!
