After watching a friend struggle to find healthy food options for her baby (that didn?t involve hours of slaving away in the kitchen), Shazi came up with the idea for Happy Family. What began as Happy Baby ? a minimally processed frozen, organic alternative to baby food in a jar ? has since grown into a comprehensive line of products for the whole family. Today, Happy Family provides organic foods for babies, toddlers, kids, and even adults! It’s delicious, convenient and made with a mother’s touch for all ages, all stages. What could be happier than that?
When it comes to be a current lifetime member of the picky eater club, my kid seems to have a card without an expiration date. With the exception of a treat here and there, I’m pretty particular to what I offer him in the hopes of meeting his daily nutritional needs. But on our super busy days or when I’m just feeling under the weather, I love being able to reach into the pantry and pull out a variety of Happy Family Brand snacks or meals without a second thought! I know that good stuff goes into each product they make, so I never have to worry if his snack is doing a good job!
Happy Family Brand is a whole line of good for you items ranging from babies first foods all the way up to delicious Greek yogurt for biggest of big kids (mom & dad) with no artificial ingredients, no artificial preservatives, and no trans fat!
Once Sonshine got teeth and moved away from baby food and finger foods, I stopped going down the baby food aisle, which was my first mistake. The Happy Tot line has really taken off and I was both delighted and surprised at all the options out there. At just a few dollars a piece, these snacks will not break your budget and you get more bang for your buck! We loaded our cart up with a few of the products from the tot line specifically since Sonshine is almost four. The Happy Tot Plus are pouches filled with organic fruit and vegetables mixes that Sonshine recognized as, “…the squeeze-y pouch things I had when I was real little!” As your child grows, so do the sizes and I found the Plus pouches to be just the right amount to nourish a little belly that may have snubbed lunch!
Before we even got to the register, I had Sonshine begging me to open up one of the Happy Creamies, a dairy-free, organic fruit snack that looks like little drops of freeze dried yogurt. He’s obsessed with coconut, which was the largest image on the bag, and I’m obsessed with knowing that the Creamies are made with real coconut milk, are organic, full of probiotics, are 50% veggies, and is dairy free! On the other hand, Happy Yogis are organic fruit and yogurt freeze dried drops which melt in the mouth. I think I loved the Yogis more than my son! A small handful felt like a sweet splurge, I didn’t want to share! Sonshine also tried to varieties of Rice Cakes from the Happy Munchies line. He thought they needed “more flavor” but he enjoyed how crunchy they were!
Amongst the snacks, Sonshine tried out the Organic Chicken, Quinoa, and Vegetables Toddler Meal Bowls. I don’t know how they did it, but these toddler meal bowls only need to be heated up in the microwave for a few seconds and they’re the perfect temperature! I thought the cook time was even a misprint, but I assure you, it’s not! Now, I’m not going to lie, it didn’t look like the most appealing meal when I pulled the lid off. It smelled great though and I think that alone was what enticed him to take a bite. After he ate a quarter of the dish and on his way to half, he deemed himself done and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. With such a big accomplishment, I knew we wouldn’t be leaving the baby food aisle anytime soon! Who do I talk to about renaming that aisle anyways?
Right now, on the Happy Family Facebook page, you can share your Stories from the Bright Side which is where parents can submit their own stories of real life situations that parents face on a daily basis. You could win $20,000 towards your child’s college education just by sharing! While you’re there, make sure you watch the web series featuring videos from seven funny parenting bloggers sharing their own stories about meal time struggles. I hope I’ll see some of you on the Bright Side!
