My husband is an attorney and in his line of work that means lots of suits and lots of dress shirts. He is also not a normal sized man…he is bigger and taller than most at 6’9″. Sure that means he can reach anything and I can ALWAYS spot him in a crowd but when it comes to his clothes that means they are twice the size to clean. I iron when I have to but I must admit that I live a mere 2 blocks from my mom’s house and she is my expert iron-er. I am very blessed that she keeps up with all my husband’s ironing. Passed on because when she was younger her mom ironed all of my dad’s clothes. Weird I know but that is just the kind of family we are….always helping each other out.
Every week I walk with my girls down to Grandma’s house carrying these giant dress shirts already cleaned and ready to be ironed. She had just recently mentioned to me that the iron she had been using was going out on her and it was time for a new one. So I surprised her with Reliable Corporation’s new sensor velocity V200 iron for her to review.
I was super excited for her to try out the new iron but she was less than thrilled. She said over the decades she had tried many an iron and they all promised one thing or another and they never delivered so she did not expect anything different this time around.
We got it out and she read through the directions (as we always do) to get this iron ready to go. Here is a pic of mine so you can see a non-stock photo image of it.

My mom said it irons great and there was definitely no spitting or leaking which can be really annoying when ironing. All of husband’s shirts turned out nice and neat for him to get wrinkled or dirty throughout the day.
We then took the iron back to my house to test out on Big Sis’ new curtains. Out of the package and on the walls these curtains were EXTREMELY wrinkled. So we tried the steam feature to get them unwrinkled. These curtains are huge and after 30 minutes we got the first giant panel all nice and neat. This iron really is amazing. I like that I don’t need to own a separate steamer.

Overall the Sensor Velocity V200 from Reliable is a awesome iron. It glides so smooth across the fabric which is nice and you don’t have to keep going over the same spot to get out a stubborn wrinkle. This iron is one heavy beast. I like how heavy it is because it just makes it seem easier when ironing but if you are steaming something up and down than be prepared to get some arm muscles. The sheer weight of it might be my only negative. Just a great iron from a great company especially if you have stuff that needs ironed all the time like we do in my casa.
