Peaceable Kingdom is my favorite go-to place for family games! We have quite a few of their games in our collection for my youngest son. Since he is only 4 and has some developmental delays, he prefers games where we are all working together instead of feeling as though he is playing on his own against us.
There are multiple exciting cooperative games to choose from on Peaceable Kingdom! We currently have Feed the Woozle, The Great Cheese Chase and our newest one is What’s It? Which is the game I am going to tell you about today!
What’s It? has some similarities to games like pictionary or charades, however there are some incredibly entertaining differences that make it unique.
First of all, it is a cooperative game so everyone is working together, Players vs. Doodler. The Doodler is the person who keeps track of the time and flips the cards over, although we found that really you don’t need an extra person to do this.
Each of the What’s It? cards have doodles on them that you can imagine are all sorts of things! The idea is to come up with three things that you think it is (while keeping in mind what everyone else might think it is) and write it on your wipe off board by the time the sand falls on the timer. For every answer that each of the players get the same the Players get 1pt on the Score Chart and for any answers that did not match up to another player, the Doodler gets 1pt.
Here’s the spin! It has a Die that gives you a Category of what the picture must be in!
In the photo above you can see the die says “You Love It” which means that the doodle is something you love. Then I wrote three things that it reminded me of that fell into that category.
Since my son is only four, we didn’t require him to write out his answers. He could either a) tell us what the answer was or b) he could place the doodle on something it reminded him of. Sometimes it was easier for him to do the latter of the two because he has some communication delays and answering questions is a little difficult for him. This comes in handy if you have little kids who aren’t extremely communicative and it also makes it quite interesting what they come up with!
Another great thing is that Peaceable Kingdom has a ton of new stickers. So every time we would play the game and win together, we’d give my tot a special sticker! Seeing how my son absolutely LOVES cars and trucks, the Zoom! 3D Stickers fit him the best.

My son had a lot of fun with the stickers and the new game. He likes coming up with silly things for the doodle cards and actually likes making his own doodles on the wipe-off boards. We actually had him make all the doodles once for the game and tried to decipher his doodles!
