Do you want to score the hottest bargains and best deals? It’s easier than you think! In this helpful pocket guide, Sara Lundberg, author of the super-saver website BudgetSavvyDiva.com, reveals her cleverest, most effective and down-right sneakiest strategies for saving money while filling the cart with all your favorite foods.
I am so excited to share the Budget Savvy Diva’s Guide to Slashing Your Grocery Bill by 50% or More book with you! I am a big BSD fan and have been following her for a few years now, in fact, she’s the reason I started to look more into blogs. (So, I guess I should thank Sara for inadvertently helping me become a writer here at Outnumbered!) Sara’s website has millions of followers and updates on the hour with fantastic deals so you never miss out!
Now, you can fit all the Diva’s budgeting and frugal tips and ideas right into your purse or pocket for on the go advice and reminders! The book includes the following nine chapters:
- Menu Planning
- The Grocery Store
- Where to Shop
- Eating Healthy on a Budget
- Coupons 101
- Creating a Stockpile
- Kids in the Kitchen
- Budget Savvy Recipes
- Leftovers
As you can see, the book really is more than just slashing your grocery bill! Sara draws on values she learned in her childhood, like the importance of fresh herbs and vegetables, along with the importance of a dollar. She offers the gentle reminder that what one wants is not necessarily what we need and that living frugally doesn’t mean you can’t live a full life, especially in the kitchen! It is with these concepts that Sara walks her readers through key points in keeping track of their money, getting the most bang for the buck, and saving money as well!
Although some of the tips make you say, “Oh, I knew that!” you probably forgot all about them before the reminder, which is what makes the book great. Other tips have made me wonder why I didn’t think of it and have drastically helped slash my grocery bill and get my family out of the rut of eating the same types of food week after week because I saw the sales ad. In fact, a few weeks ago, I decided to look over all the meat and sure enough, just like BSD said, there was an unadvertised deal for a usually expensive cut of beef! Sara also helps bust the idea that convenience is the same as thrifty. A pre-made item might cost less, but a loaf of bread and meat last days, making it cost less in the long run, even if it costs more up front.
Another fabulous section is the couponing. If you’re brand new to using couponing or have wondered how it works, BSD has great explanations. If couponing is not for you, there are also wide varieties of ideas on how to save big without picking up a pair of scissors. What I love is that it’s been written as though Sara is talking to you, just like a friend. I suggest reading with a pen or highlighter and dog earing your favorite tips and recipes, so that when you take the book to the store with you, you’ll have all the answers you need right at your fingertips!
If you’re looking for help to add a little more cushion to your bank account or need frugal and tasty meal ideas (Sara is a fabulous cook!) then look no further than the quick read of the Budget Savvy Diva’s Guide to Slashing Your Grocery Bill by 50% or More!
