When I had Sonshine, I was amazed at the amount of baby products out there, what was needed, or so I thought needed, what I wanted, and what family suggested. For the longest time, I wasn’t sure where my newborn was going to sleep. I knew he should be in the bedroom with us, but at the time, we had a small bedroom with too large furniture and limited space. I fretted and fretted until my mother surprised us with this amazing, but very much hand-me-down John Lennon bassinet, which is no longer produced. With no instruction, it was funny to watch my mom and husband put it together and being so old, the piece that made vibration died right before we needed it the most. As much as I love that bassinet, I knew we would need a new one if and when we had our second baby.

How amazing is that? It’s a simple attachment and includes a belt to keep baby tucked in right, without rolling off the incline! I could have used this as Sonshine suffered from horrible acid reflux as a newborn. If your little one is having an easy night or doesn’t need to incline, the attachment comes off easily and you’re left with a regular bassinet.
So, how easy was it to put together? Pretty simple, I did it, all by myself! I had one, “oh, duh!” moment when I could not find the instruction booklet. (It’s tucked in the mat, btw.) Asides that, I had the bassinet together, with putting on the incline attachment and taking it off, within 20 minutes.
There are not a whole lot of pieces and each piece slides into or locks itself into another, no need for screws or tools! I love how simple it is!
 Other noteworthy features are the ability to lock the wheels, so the bassinet stays put, or the ability to roll it from room to room, which will come in handy in our one floor home! You can also pull the wheels off to convert the bassinet into a rocker. The Light Vibes electronic unit calls for two AA batteries and plays classic music, animals sounds, has a soft glow light, and vibrations. We found that the vibrations helped Sonshine sleep easiest on nights he was colic-y. Underneath there is a snapped on basket, which is just about the full size of the bassinet. You can store wipes, diapers, spit clothes, and even the incline attachment underneath so everything is a fingertips reach.
The pattern on the bassinet is called Emerson, but it’s the perfect neutral coloring! The pictures I took did it absolutely no justice. The green is this beautiful, soft mint coloring and the brown is a rich, chocolate coloring. I never would have thought that those two colors could be used in a little girl’s room, but the moment I was done I could see either a little boy or girl in the bassinet. The bassinet is recommended for newborns up to 3 months or 15 pounds.
