Like all great Disney Pixar movies, you can expect a video game to come out too! My son got to try out Brave Wii. It is rated E10+ (Everyone 10 or older), so I didn’t let my girls play. I know, mean mom, right? I do stick with the ratings, as I figure people smarter than me develop the rating for a reason.
I am not going to pretend to understand the whole game, but rest assure my son had a blast with it! If you are looking for a last minute gift, I recommend Brave Wii (for boys, girls or adults….it is not a girly, girl game!)
“Challenge destiny and change your fate, all while playing as Merida (voiced by the film’s actress, Kelly Macdonald) and other popular characters from Brave, the box office hit from Disney?Pixar. In Brave: The Video Game, fans can experience an all-new storyline, play through the rugged landscape of mythical Scotland and are encouraged to utilize their wits and bravery to face off against fierce enemies and end a magical curse that will save the kingdom.”
Here is what I am able to “understand” from my son. There are eight levels to play through (he only got to level 3…..so far!) in Brave Wii. You are “Merida” from the game and you fight all sorts of different monsters. The monsters are wolves, stone creatures, trees that walk, ice monsters, just to name a few. You destroy them to earn coins and healing potions as you battle through each level. The coins can be used to “get better” weapons to fight the monsters and get through the level.
Along the way you have to solve puzzles. Merida’s three brothers/bear cubs must solve the puzzle. Using the three bears, you step on “buttons” that open doors for items that Merida needs to get through the level.
My son is having fun with Brave Wii and I am sure my girls would too, if they were old enough. My son told me that Dad was playing it too, but my husband won’t “man up.” He knows I would probably go into the “if you have time to play the Wii, I have a list a mile long you can help with……” lecture!
I can promise you, the two of them will be down playing Brave Wii over our Christmas break! Again, if you need a last minute gift for a child 10 or older (or an adult!!), consider Brave Wii by Disney Pixar. Brave video game is also available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC/Mac. Let the fun begin!!
Gift It!
You can buy Brave Wii (and other platforms) online at Amazon or nationwide at retailers (Target, Gamestop, Kmart, Walmart and ToysRUs) for $29.99.
