Some people have the kind of mom who likes jewelry. Others have a mother who enjoys going to the spa. And then there’s your mother: The woman who has more gadgets than you and your dad put together!
When it comes to shopping for the woman who has almost every kind of technology toy and trinket that you can think of, it might be a bit challenging to try and come up with a holiday gift that will put a big smile on her face. The good news is that we did a bit of the research for you and came up with five things that should accomplish that feat for you (or at least help to point you into the right direction):
A massaging bed rest. Brookstone is the home of user-friendly tech gadgets and one of the items on their list is a massaging bed rest. Basically, it’s a portable plush-like chair that has a vibrating massager built-in and comes complete with side pockets to put books, magazines and a remote control in, plus an overhead LED light that moves into multiple positions.
A digital food scale. If your mom has made the declaration that with the New Year, she plans on shedding a few pounds, then she would probably love having a digital food scale. A company by the name of Perfect Proportions makes one that has nearly 2000 different kinds of foods already in its database. You can use it to track calories, carbs, sugar, sodium and more.
A laptop cooling pad. When you’re working or playing on your laptop and you hear a blowing sound kick in, that’s an automatic fan that keeps your computer from overheating. A nice complement for that is a laptop cooling pad. A company by the name of ThermaPAK makes one and it is reportedly better than all of the latest USB cooling devices, in part, because it cools the entire laptop and not just one section of it. You can find them on Amazon and it sure beats buying one of those standard screen protectors.
A digital Polaroid camera. Once upon a time, Polaroid cameras were all the rage. There was simply something that was so cool about being able to take a picture, see the snapshot come out of the camera and immediately develop before your very eyes. Now, Polaroid has come up with a way that you can use a digital camera and get the same results. They call it the PoGo Polaroid Digital Camera. It costs around $300 and it’s portable enough to carry just about anywhere.
A “coffee cup” cell phone charger. There are plenty of moms who simply cannot start their day without a cup of coffee. There are even more who cannot imagine running errands without their cell phone being charged up. Red Envelope is a company that makes a cell phone charger that looks just like a tall cup of java. Not only is it really cute, but it’s extremely convenient because you can use it to charge up to three different devices. So, if you get this for mom, you never know. She just might let you charge up your iTablet on the way to school as a way for saying “thanks” for getting her such a truly awesome present!
