It started in 1928 with a 60 acre Hill Country peach orchard, evolved into a roadside fruit stand in 1969 and is now the #1 gourmet food company in Texas. Now there’s a historic warehouse with a well stocked showroom that offers daily samplings and the Fischer & Wieser Das Peach Haus still stands in its original location. It sure is an interesting and inspiring story that you may want to read more about!
My taste buds were going crazy as soon as I clicked into the Fischer & Wieser online store. I started looking at the jellies and pie fillings, then moved onto their sauces. I quickly found the recipe section and it was all over. I saw several recipes that I just had to try, they sounded so delicious! I chose a handful of their sauces and pie fillings so that I could test them out.
We tried the Spicy Sesame Stir Fry & Dipping Sauce with dinner yesterday. I’ve been in the mood for Asian food, so we had decided to make Spicy Sesame Stir Fry Chicken.
“Our Spicy Sesame Stir Fry & Dipping Sauce is a bold, vibrant sauce that blends the classic favorites of the Orient. Full of savory spices and sesame seeds, it’s the perfect complement to grilled tuna. It is also ideal as a dipping sauce for chicken or beef. Enjoy!”
The Spicy Sesame Stir Fry & Dipping Sauce definitely did the job and the Spicy Sesame Stir Fry Chicken was amazing. So amazing in fact, that everyone ate it! You must understand, I live with all boys; and each of them can be very picky at times, especially my youngest brother. Big Bro and him both frowned upon it at first and didn’t even want to try it. We told them to at least try it and if they absolutely hated it, they could throw in a pizza. Well the pizza never did get made because the both gobbled it right up, along with the rest of us!
I did alter the recipe a bit because I couldn’t find baby bok choy or black sesame seeds, forgot the green onions, substituted a green pepper for red and threw in some broccoli. I also doubled some of what the recipe called for since the recipe on the site suggests that it serves two. I’ll share the recipe below that fed my family of 7.
Be sure to check back in the coming weeks because I’ll be sharing what I make with the other 3 products that I tried from Fischer & Wieser.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
