There is a hot, new boy band climbing charts and setting trends. Assembled on the UK’s version of Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor” and made up of 5 young men, New Direction are not only making hits with their music but with their look as well. Especially, their hair styles are becoming widely popular.
Cozy Friedman, author of Cozy’s Complete Guide to Girls? Hair and founder of the So Cozy line, is always at the forefront of the hottest trends and she predicts that this is a trend that will take hold. ?This look is an easy look for boys and fun, as they can style it themselves,? says Cozy.
To get the look: ?The most important thing is how it’s styled,? suggests Cozy. ?Choose a product based on the thickness and length of your hair ? thicker hair should use gel, while thinner, shorter hair can use a styling cream (try the So Cozy Gel or Styling Cream available at www.socozy.com). Start by brushing the hair from the top and sides completely forward over the forehead and ears. Using a dime-quarter size amount of your product, run hands through the hair from back to front, giving it a piece-y look and keeping it in place.?

We were sent So Cozy Styling Cream in Kooky Kiwi to try. We all have really thick, “don’t do what we want it to do” hair. Bubba especially, the “before” picture above is actually pretty good compared to most days. He usually wakes up with half of it standing straight up and he also has a very stubborn cowlick right there in front. We’ve tried a lot of different gels and things and most don’t hold for long, so the Cozy Styling Cream surprised me. He was able to style his hair himself and it held all day. The smell is really good too, to me it smells just like PEZ candy. Don’t tell the kids, but I used the styling cream on my hair, as well, and loved it. I have naturally curly hair and it killed the frizz, which is awesome!
We were also able to review the absolutely fabulous
Cozy’s Complete Guide to Girls? Hair?book. If you have a daughter with hair, you need this book. Not only does it have great instructions (with pictures and diagrams) of a range of styles from super easy to more complicated; but chapters on hair care, how to deal with hair emergencies, the right tools, tips for cutting hair at home, and baby hair care. The two styles pictured below, the Wrapped Ponytail and the Double Twist are from the 5 under 5-minute Styles section of the book. My daughter is very into her hair and her style, unfortunately I am less than capable when it comes ?to hair styling so this book has been a big help for us.
