Spring is in the air and you know what that means. We finally get to have some fun in the sun! Of course, we’re celebrating bloggy style! It was 1897 when, concerned about her stylish figure, the talented opera singer Miss Nellie Melba sent the famed Parisian chef Auguste Escoffier back to the kitchen. Her complaint was that her bread was much too thick. Escoffier returned to Ms. Melba’s table with a thinly sliced piece of toasted bread, and promptly named it Melba toast in her honor. Nellie Melba’s name would go on forever, just like she always said it would.

Having 4 kids in our home means that we need to have a constant supply of snacks on hand. Snacks in our house can be anything from yogurt, fruit snacks, fresh fruit to crackers, pretzels, even Melba toasts.

Yes, my children enjoy Melba toasts, as do I. I love to spread cream cheese and other soft cheeses on them and even use them as a chip substitute when eating dips. My kids, they like to eat the different flavors, plain, right out of the box.

My kids enjoy the everyday Melba toast flavors such as sesame, classic and rye but with Old London’s new addition of Sea Salt Melba Toast, my kids are hooked.

Melba toasts can make for an easy snack to pack for your kids to take with to school and are great to serve with hors d’oeuvres along side any dip or spread cheese and Old London offers a variety of flavors to make everyone’s taste-buds dance!
