Good Earth Sweet and Spicy Decaf Tea Review

Good Earth Tea was one of the first herbal tea companies during the 1970’s in America. In the late 1970’s, we began developing trademark teas for Good Earth restaurants, especially our signature Original Sweet and Spicy Tea. Due to the overwhelming popularity of our teas, we began selling Good Earth Tea in bag form in the California market in 1988. We now offer over 25 different blends of tea ? each unique and delicious.

Good Earth Tea is full of greatness! Their tea contains no artificial colors, preservatives, or sugar. Each tea is allergen free, soy-free, and MSG-free as well as being Kosher certified by the Orthodox Union! How great does that sound? And what makes them good for the Earth? The product packaging is plastic free, meaning a reduction of waste by the consumer. The cartons themselves are recycled cardboard with soy-based ink used for printing and the tea bags themselves are unbleached with recycled tea tags. And, all of this occurs in a factory powered with 75% solar energy!

I was able to try a box of Good Earth’s signature blend, Sweet & Spicy Caffeine Free. The tea is made with Rooibos (roy-boss), a red tea which is naturally decaffeinated, cinnamon, peppermint, chamomile, orange oil, and more. I loved how aromatic the tea was, it reminded me of the smells of fall; cinnamon, orange, and spices. The taste is extremely rich, without going overboard, and full bodied with tangy spices. The tea has a nice warming effect as you drink it, coating your throat as it goes down. Which was great, as I had a bad case of the flu when the box arrived! It also has a sweet aftertaste, like sugar. I had to ask my husband (as he was taking care of me at the time) if he had added sugar and he swore up and down he had not! I trust him, as I’ve made the tea myself since then! No added sugar, just a natural sweetness that is delicious.

The chamomile in the tea is also extremely relaxing, within twenty minutes of finishing a cup, my eyelids were drooping and my whole body was relaxed. I felt incredibly unwound and peaceful. The whole mug of tea just feels like an little indulgent treat (especially when I added two lemon slices to it!) that I feel good about sharing with my little one and enjoying each night before bed. And each tea tag has an inspirational quote, which sends me off to sleep feeling happy.
