As an avid reader, I love to encourage the children in my life to read as well. I was recently introduced to the ?Howard B. Wigglebottom book series.There are nine different books that teach different life lessons. ?We were sent Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns Too Much of a Good Thing is Bad by Howard Binkow to review.

Howard is a fluffy bunny who thinks like every little one. He thinks there is no such thing as too much of anything. On his birthday he is given a double-fudge chocolate sundae for breakfast. Since it is his favorite dessert and his special day, Howard sees no reason not to enjoy it and eat it all up. When it was time for school, his mother gave him bubblegum to share with his class. Bubblegum happens to be another one of Howard’s favorites and he ended up stuffing the entire bag into his mouth. On his way to school, Howard came across a bear selling balloons. Since it was his birthday, Howard thought it would be a good idea to grab a balloon or two. ?After he grabbed 83 balloons, Howard floated away. Flying did not think this was bad because the balloons could carry him to school. That is where the trouble started!

This book is 32 pages long and does a great job of getting the message across. Children learn how easy it is to have too much of something they enjoy. I like how the story starts with Howard having too much ice cream, bubblegum and balloons and ends with the not so good consequences. There are a few pages at the end of the book that covers how hard it can be to say no sometimes. It encourages children that with practice they can become good at saying no and doing things in moderation.

The story line is easy to follow and the illustrations by Susan F. Cornelison are beautiful. My daughter says look very soft and fuzzy. I have read it to my nephew and he likes it too. He keeps trying to grab the balloons, one of his favorite things.
