Piczillas is well known for it’s 3D realism wall graphics. You choose your photograph, upload it and then opt to have the figure cut out. The effect is stunning and almost appears as if you could reach out and touch the person or object. However, when I was given a chance to review a Piczilla custom wall graphic I choose to do something different and do a full photograph with nothing cut out. My idea was to see how realistic it seemed as a full photo. I first made sure that the photograph I chose was in high resolution. They easily explain this on their FAQ by telling you to zoom in as far as you can on the photo. If the pixels began to show before it gets roughly the same size as the decal then the resolution is to low. I had chose to speak to someone to make sure my photograph was going to be okay and uploaded fine. You can do this by using the “Chat box” on the bottom right of the screen. They were extremely helpful and pleasant. Someone always appears to be Online so you will always have that helping hand if you need it. Once I knew my photograph was okay I uploaded it, chose to have the full photograph printed and sent it on it’s way. I quickly received an email letting me know all the details and within a few days (yes a few days!) my custom wall graphic arrived!
Needless to say I was ecstatic! The full image also had the 3D realism and it really seemed as though I could step right into the photograph and walk again along that side walk on that special day, my youngest sons first Autumn. This had always been one of my most precious pictures of my husband and my youngest and the pleasure of having it recreated on a custom wall graphic with such exquisite detail blew me away.
bMy amazing picture was easy to place on the wall. The only difficult part was choosing where to put it because I loved it so much I had to find the perfect spot. My son Cody actually chose the spot in the Kids Cave and we wiped the area on the wall clean of dirt before starting our task and thankfully on the back it gives directions on how to apply a large custom wall graphic.
Because it was large, Cody held the right side while I attached the left by slowly pulling the contact paper away bit by bit. If we ran into any problem with an air bubble it was easy to smooth out with my hand or to use the tube it was shipped in as a roller. It took us about 15 minutes to get it applied to the wall and afterward I rolled up the contact paper and kept it with the tube. This way if I chose to move the picture to a different area I could reattach it to the paper and then move it.
Magnificent! It was the perfect touch for our Kids Cave! Piczillas has won me over with their outstanding wall graphic, their down to earth and friendly customer service when I needed assistance and of course with their savvy business of bringing our photographs to another level. My next project is having them cut out the flowers from my wedding photo so I can place them above my bed. Amaze yourself!
