This week’s guest post is from April from Mommy’s Sweet Things. I cannot tell you how many time this recipe would have come in handy with Lil Man. He LOVED Play Doh and we would just go through it so fast!
I volunteered to make Playdo at my daughter’s Pre-School. They gave me a simple recipe to make at home using natural cooking ingredients. My daughter had a blast helping me poor the ingredients and mixing it all together.
You will need:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup salt
- 4 teaspoons cream of tarter (find it in the Spices section of your grocery store)
- 4 tablespoons oil
- 2 cups water
- Food coloring of your choice (add a little color at a time until you get the color you like)
Mix all ingredients together. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. I had to use Low/Medium heat on my stove. Let it cool and it’s ready for play. To keep it from drying out just store it in a Zip-lock bag.
