I’ve had a few people ask me about button coding and html linking. I’ve even done it for a couple of people. I figure now is as good a time as any to share it with all of you, just in case there are others who don’t know. Please feel free to ask questions and suggest any tips you may have.
How to do Button/Banner Coding:
Knowing how to do button coding can be very helpful. You can create a banner of your choosing, link it to your site and even make a code box so that others can grab that banner and link to you.
First of all, you want to upload the image you want to use to a Photobucket account. Once you have that photo saved, select the album you saved it in, then select the image. You should come to a screen similar to the one below.
Put your cursor in the HTML Code box and highlight the coding. If you don’t know how to highlight it, click it and hit ctrl + c at the same time. I would open a notepad doc just to be on the safe side, then paste the code in there by hitting ctrl + v at the same time. Your code will look something like this:
Replace everything that’s highlighted with the url you want to point the banner to and voila, done.
How to do Button/Banner Coding with a box for others to grab the banner:
Now what if you want to add a code so that other people can grab your banner and link to your site? That’s even easier. This is the code you’ll use.
Replace everything in the red boxes with your url in place of mine and your photobucket link in place of mine.
How to do a text link:
Replace the url in blue with the url you want to use. Then replace the text in red with the text you want to use.
I’m sorry that you aren’t able to copy and paste these codes. Every time I put them in regular text form, it looked funny. But, you get the just of it.
