My baby brother just graduated High School on Wednesday, so I’ve been busy planning his Graduation Party. We decided to go with the Luau theme for his party in August, so I’ve been looking around for fun ideas as far as food and decor go. I came across cookies that look like flip flops on Pinterest and thought they would be a perfect treat for our festivities!
These Flip Flop Luau Cookies are super easy to make and require just a couple of things.
What you’ll need:
- Nutter Butter cookies
- Vanilla frosting
- food coloring
- flower or snowflake (they look just like flowers) cookie/cupcake decorations
- small cookie decorating frosting tip
- wax paper
What you’ll do:
Put a small amount of frosting (about 1/4 cup) into a bowl, add a few drops of your choice of food color. Stir well and add more frosting or food coloring until you get the perfect color. Place frosting tip into piping bag and spoon frosting into bag. Squeeze the bag down to remove any air bubbles and start piping the frosting starting at one side of the middle, up about halfway to the middle of top of cookie, then back down to the middle, other side of cookie.
When you’re done, they should look like this. You’ll place a flower or snowflake decoration in the center to finish the “flip flop” off! Super easy and even cuter!
