~Post made possible by Pump It Up Parties~
Pump It Up is an amazing Inflatable Party Zone for families, not just kids! A place where families can go and play in a cool safe environment and enjoy the afternoon together during daily events like Pop-In Playtime! I was given the opportunity to visit Pump It Up and check it out with my tot. It was an interesting and fun experience all rolled into one.
First of all, my tot has some sensory issues. I hadn’t thought about it prior to visiting because he’d never been on an inflatable and generally only ever acted upset about the air drying machines in bathrooms. So, when first walking into the 1st room it was quite loud with the buzz of the motors and he kind of got a little scared by it. We were able to calm him down and to enjoy our time and he got to sliding on the big slide and hopping in the giant inflatable with my husband and I. The second room was quieter, but he was still a little fidgety.
I mention this for those of you with special needs children with sensory issues. Pump It Up Playtime is a large supporter of Autism Speaks and in some areas they have a Special Event called Open Jump for Autism where the proceeds are donated to Autism Speaks. To see if your location offers something similar for special needs children, visit Our Locations, put in your Zip Code and check out Special Events.
Outside of that little blip in the road, we had a blast. I had never gotten to be on an inflatable myself and it is crazy to think that a few days before my 33rd birthday I finally get to jump around on one! Tot and I slid down the giant slides together, bounced around in the inflatable ring that reminded me of a circus and even played Basketball!
It was a calm afternoon and we had the whole place to ourselves. Music was playing, we were all jumping and it was really exciting! I can only imagine what it would be like to have all your family and friends over for a party, especially during a Go Glow party where you can turn off the lights and have everything glowing!
They also have other fun Events available (depends on location), such as:
- Jump-N-Art: Make crafts and jump with your kids.
- PumpStart Structured Play: Jumping, bouncing and sing-a-longs designed to help with social skills and physical abilities.
- Superhero Training Camp: Become a superhero
- Pirate Quest: Have fun searching for treasure!
They can also customize your party with your choice of pizza, balloons and goodie bags! That way all you have to do is show up.
Show your support for Imaginative Play for kids by signing the campaign “Support Childhood, Support Imagination.” As part of the campaign, parents will receive support emails, blog posts and shared advice from the companies social networks. Here are a few tips they shared with me and what you can expect to also receive!
- Let your kids control – When playing with their kids, most parents fall into the trap of encouraging them to complete certain actions that ?make sense?. If they ask you to take part, ask how or just follow their lead.
- Have an Imagination Station:
Whether it’s a playroom or a designated area at home, have a space that’s filled with different objects they can explore and use in their play. Sometimes, the most common objects make for the most fun. Do you remember creating multiple uses for that huge cardboard box?
- Bring a Buddy
Setup play dates: According to Reader’s Digest, ?Kids who play pretend with their friends do a lot of talking. This helps boost their vocabulary, improve sentence structure and enhance communication skills.?
