Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups is the second in the Santa Paws series and an extension of the ever growing Buddies franchise from Disney. We are big fans of the Buddies in this household and with Christmas only a few weeks away, what better way to ring in the holiday cheer than with four adorable white Santa Pups and their family?
I have to say, I truly impressed by the quality of the movie. A lot of straight to DVD movies have shoddy special effects, skimp on the costumes and other decor, but the Santa Paws 2 has truly outdone themselves with fantastic effects, sets, decor, and costuming. My favorite part is how they took this version of Santa and made him look a lot different from previous Disney Santa’s without loosing his true essence. The actors also help keep the story moving along, without being stiff or simply reading their line, you can tell they truly enjoyed working on this movie. Even the puppies! Whomever is in charge of training the dogs for each movie has gotten better with each movie!

Santa Paws 2 is a big contrast to the previous movie, The Search for Santa Paws. Just like the Buddies movies, we’re presented with a pack of dogs, Santa Paws puppies: Jingle, Charity, Hope, and their brother, Noble! The siblings stow away in Santa’s sleigh when Mrs Claus goes to Pineville, USA when one of their biggest Christmas ambassadors passes away. Unfortunately, the pups cause so much mischief that the towns Christmas spirit starts to turn sour and with the impending doom of Christmas spirit leaving the whole world forever, the pups and Mrs Claus set out to make things better. Will they be able to fix things with Christmas only three weeks away?
This movie is great for younger children and those young at heart. My three year old, who made me feel like he wasn’t paying attention, jeered and cheered at all the appropriate places. I can see us watching this quite a few times over the next month and again all next holiday season! It truly is an adorable, heart felt Christmas movie, helping everyone get into the Christmas spirit!
