When we lived in New York, I had a favorite pizza parlor that we frequented often. Now that we’re back down South, I’ve found the pizza lacking a certain something special, so I’ve been attempting to perfect our favorite recipes. The Macaroni and Cheese pizza the parlor carried was one of my absolute favorites and this is my best take yet on the flavor!
Ingredients
- Pizza dough (make your own or get a fresh ball from your grocer)
- 2 Cups cooked pasta
- 1 Can of Creamy Three Cheese Progresso Recipe Starter Cooking Sauce
- 2 Cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon paprika
- 1 Tablespoon corn starch
- 3 Tablespoon milk
- 1 Cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees
- Cook pasta according to box directions, drain and set aside.
- Roll out pizza dough, prick with fork in numerous spots, and bake for 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, pour cooking sauce, garlic powder, paprika and bring to a boil, stirring.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese.
- Mix corn starch and milk together.
- Pour mixture into cheese sauce and whisk until thickens slightly.
- Pour cheese sauce over noodles and toss until coated.
- Gently scoop over pizza dough until whole crust is covered. Spoon extra sauce over top.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over and bake 8-10 minutes.
- Broil for last minute or until cheese is a golden brown.
- Serve and enjoy!
