I am always on the hunt for something fun and new to surprise Sonshine with. It’s a struggle to keep a two year old’s attention for more than a few minutes, especially when you’re at the store, grocery shopping. I’ve tried bribing with those twenty-five cents machine toys, but I have that kid, the one who sticks the cute little rubber farm animals in his mouth. I’ve stopped at the “hot” bar and purchased fruit and yogurt prior to shopping. All good ideas, none of which have lasted.
But, now, I have the Doodle Roll! The simplicity of this children’s toy is what makes it amazing! I only got my Doodle Roll in the mail a few hours ago and my son is smitten with it! To break it down, the Doodle Roll is a roll of paper inside a plastic carrying case. You can pull out a little or a lot of paper, however much you need to entertain your child/ren, and along with the included crayons, you can keep a kid quiet, entertained, and happy for a long time. I’m going to take it to the grocery store this weekend and have Sonshine “draw” the items we put in the cart. I know it’ll be all squiggles, but, it’ll help him with colors and I might even get to shop without a screaming toddler. (Oh, yes, we are definitely that family you tsk at!)
