Hand and Foot Print Craft

I have such a fun and adorable craft for you today! These are my 5 year old son, and 3 year old daughters hand and footprint crafts! I will cherish these forever, because they are stinkin adorable and they are made by them!

They cannot be any easier, a little messy, but super easy!

All you need is:

a white piece of paper
a colored piece of paper
glue
goggly eyes
paint
felt(for the elephant)
Black marker

Directions:

You could probably just look at the photo’s and see how easy these are but I will guide you step by step.

Cut out your white paper into squares or rectangles(it’s easier to do this all at once, especially if you’re making a number of them.
Do the same with the colored paper, except make it an inch bigger for the border.
Glue the white and the colored paper together.
Apply a light layer of paint onto your child’s feet or hands, then firmly press onto the white paper. Making whatever animal you desire, be creative!
Let them dry, them glue on your goggly eyes, and draw the mouth or tail…depending on what animal you’re making.
Cut out the felt ear for the elephant and glue it on.

There are hundred’s of animals, sea creatures, and insects to create…I just showed you a few that our family made.

These are perfect for thank you cards, or thinking of you cards, and what a wonderful keepsake for the receiver!

Shrimp Scampi & Noodles Recipe Using Gorton’s Seafood

I live in a house full of seafood fans. They would eat it every day if I’d serve it – I swear! Well lucky for them, we were recently able to try some delicious seafood from Gorton’s. I picked up some Fish Sandwich Filets, Crunchy Breaded Fish Filets and Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi.

For dinner one evening, we had fish sandwiches and french fries – a classic dinner treat. Everyone really enjoyed it and I have to say that I personally like Gorton’s Fish Sandwich Filets much better than other frozen options I’ve tried before. They were crunchy, not soggy – which I love! The kids enjoyed both meals using the fish as well.

I’m not a fan of Shrimp, but the rest of the house is – so one afternoon I made lunch for my husband and father in law. My original plan was to make Grilled Shrimp with Tropical Fruit Salsa. I started cooking the shrimp and even got to cutting the fruit, then looked a little harder at the recipe. That’s when it dawned on me – I had bought the wrong kind of shrimp! Good thing I’m quick to improvise and with the suggestion of my husband, just added some noodles for a delicious Shrimp Scampi & Noodles entree. Lucky for me, it turned out delicious from what they said!

Shrimp Scampi & Noodles Recipe

Ingredients:

1 box Gorton’s Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi
1 Package Ramen Noodles

Directions:

Cook shrimp according to package directions. I used the stove top option because I generally just use the microwave for re-heating things. You’ll cook the shrimp for about 13 minutes, so after about 5 minutes start boiling a cup of water. Once the water is boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook for 2 minutes. Drain water, pour into bowl and add Gorton’s Shrimp Scampi. Toss and serve!

*Please note that I did not use the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles.

This is a fantastic book to help kids stay creative and engaged. My eight -year-old daughter opened it immediately and began looking at all the pictures. Then once she selected a project she began reading the directions without me suggesting. Unfortunately, my daughter did not inherit my love of reading, but I try to encourage her to read every chance I get. That’s why it is so great to find creative books like this one.

The directions come with lots of pictures which is a must with a visual learner like my daughter. She struggled with the directions for the barrettes, but sailed through the directions for the key chain. Since Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching she decided to make key chains for her grandmothers. She has such a giving heart and gives nearly everything she makes away.

My daughter has tried many projects out of this book and plans to try even more. There are several projects to make that are not bracelets which my daughter has truly enjoyed. Some of the projects require multiple looms so if you have multiple children this book would be a must. It will keep your family entertained for hours. Although my son is not old enough for these projects I?m glad to see they have so many that would appeal to boys. Not all boys like crafts, but some of the projects in this book would appeal to that small percentage of boys. Overall, this is a terrific book with endless fun for my daughter and her friends.

Volume #1 and #2 have quite a few familiar songs and is filled with adorable animals that will get your little ones up on their feet and mimicking the actions they see from monkeys and more! Each new song keeps my little guy on his toes and slightly disappointed when the music videos run their course! On the go? The GiggleBellies has you covered with their app, so you can take the videos with you! With Peanut in tow, the app has helped ease the long, boring trek through the grocery store for us!
