Tribe first introduced hummus to the United States in 1993 in Boston. The original Tribe hummus flavor, Classic, became a favorite in America in only four months, and shortly thereafter Tribe’s many hummus flavors became a staple among American households.
We produce Tribe in Taunton, Massachusetts, about 40 miles south of Boston. Our plant produces the most delicious, freshest-tasting hummus on the market, and we distribute our three hummus lines nationwide.
Keeping our hummus “all natural” requires a continued commitment to simplicity. We?re dedicated to producing a hummus that not only satisfies the palate, but nourishes the soul. Tribe hummus is made with all natural ingredients and is free of artificial flavors, preservatives, hydrogenated oils, and high-fructose corn syrup.
I had the wonderful opportunity to taste test some great flavors from Tribe Hummus! Before I get into the flavors and a few recipes I made, I want to tell you how much I love hummus. A few years ago I discovered this yummy chick pea blend of goodness, I was trying to eat a better and healthier diet. I would purchase tons of veggies and a container of my favorite flavor. For some reason I never thought about eating it any other way, I would just dip away!
The one of many things I love about Tribe’s website is they provide you with tons of recipes! Tons of flavorful recipes! They have a total of 13 flavors to choose from, not to mention organic, natural and family size selections.
The first Tribe Hummus I tried was the Spicy Red Pepper. Spicy Red Pepper
A blend of red peppers and spices for hummus lovers who need a little kick. Flavorful and spicy but not overwhelming, Spicy Red Pepper hummus hits the spot.
Ingredients
2 avocados – ripe
? cup Tribe Hummus
? cup plain Greek Yogurt
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoons onion (or one small white onion)
2 tablespoons parsley or cilantro
juice of one fresh lime
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp white pepper
3 plum tomatoes
cayenne pepper (optional)
Directions:
Add avocados, Tribe Hummus, Greek yogurt, garlic, onion, parsley, lime juice, salt and pepper to the bowl of a food processor. Combine together until creamy.
Cut tomatoes into chunks and add to food processor. Pulse two or three times until tomatoes are chopped? don?t over pulse.
Garnish with a sprig of parsley.
Serve with cut up veggies or whole grain tortilla chips.
Serves: 8
The second one I tasted was the Roasted Garlic. Our Roasted Garlic blend pairs the sweetness of roasted garlic with our hand-picked spices to create a deeply flavorful hummus.
Ingredients
1 soft tortilla
1 Tbs of Tribe Hummus
1/2 cup of tomato
1/2 cup of cucumber
1/2 cup of spinach leaves
sprinkle of Feta Crumbles
Directions: Spread the hummus on your soft tortilla, then layer on the veggies, finally top with spinach and Feta Crumbles.
With the Roasted Garlic Hummus I knew I would make either a pizza or a wrap, because I love garlic on both of those options! I’m so glad I made the wrap, it took me less than 5 minutes to whip this together. This was such a lite and refreshing lunch!

Mother’s Day is a wonderful day to provide appreciation and relaxation for the hardworking mothers in our lives. No one deserves this appreciation more than the mothers of infants and toddlers. These hard working ladies rarely get rest and peace of mind in their day-to-day lives. Healthy portable food is a great option to make life easier for toddler moms. Today, companies like Sprout Organic Foods, are helping moms feed their children on-the-go while also providing organic, nutritious meals and snacks. There are additional small ways to make raising young children a little less stressful. This Mother’s Day, consider incorporating these tips to make life just a little bit easier.
1. Color-coordinate. For mothers of multiple children, dress them all in one color. Something bright will help keep track of them in crowded places.
2. Multi-task. Make a long car ride snack-time as well. For the toddler or child that gets antsy on long trips, bring along healthy snacks and packaged food to keep them occupied as well as energized for the trip.
3. Carpool. When picking out daycares and schools for your children, consider carpools with other moms as well. Children are often better behaved around their friends and there’s less stress to drive only every few days. Plus fewer cars on the road is better for the environment.
4. Playdate. Make plans with your mommy friends so that you can relax and enjoy adult time while the kids play together as well.
5. Prepack. The diaper bag, the lunch bags, extra clothes, etc. Rather than making a stressful run home, keep items in your car or at work that your children may need. Keep snacks on hand as well, like Sprout’s Toddler Meals and Snacks, granola bars and string cheese. It’s easier to just prepare for anything than be stuck in a bad situation.
I feel like I am constantly on the go and I only have 2 children. I have definitely come to appreciate the ease of just picking up perfectly tasty and easy to serve organic snacks and being able to toss them in my diaper bag and go. Both my girls love Sprout snacks and this Mother’s Day I plan on just throwing snacks at them while I enjoy a day off. Enjoy your Mother’s Day all you Mamas out there because being a Mom is hard work.

“Mothers can feel like life is running on a never-ending loop. Just when one problem or responsibility is overcome, another trips us up. But help is on the way: Barbara Reich has all the strategies for staying ahead of the curve?and she’s wrapped them up into four easy steps that can be applied to any organizing project: 1. purge, 2. design, 3. organize, and 4. maintain. The keys to Barbara’s success are simplicity and consistency. Room by room, she takes readers through the most problematic areas in the home? from the tornado-struck play area to the packed basement or storage unit. Barbara shows readers how to approach organizing in manageable bites? many of which can be dealt with in two hours or less.”
I did add more hooks for hanging coats, bags, and sports equipment as part of the DESIGN step.
Organize: Each child has their own locker, bucket/bin on wheels for shoes, basket above (with their name on the red tag) for mittens, sports gloves, hats, dance shoes, etc. I even have a basket made from recycled newspapers, for our “recycle.” My kids use to use this basket for whatever they tossed on the bench. Speaking of bench….there really is one!
The last step as you know is Maintain…..I am still working on this one. The secret I learned is I have to stay on top of my kids so they learn the expectation. Even when I am bone tired from work, have been at the field for a game, kids have homework and it is now 8 pm….they still need to be held accountable and hang up their coats, bags, equipment, put away shoes, hats, gloves, in their designated place.
I have to keep in mind my own secret…..A happy mom, makes happy kids! Don’t quote me on that, but I tend to yell a lot less when I am happy! Now, which is my next project…my pantry, my closet, the basement? All I know is I will have Secrets of an Organized Mom, right next to me as I start it!

There are so many choices when selecting the right diaper bag. I personally like to have lots of pockets and compartments to store items. The last thing you want to do is dig around searching for the items you need. The BEABA Sac New York diaper bag comes in black or gray, and it is fully loaded!!! No joke, I had to look at the diagram to figure out what some of the compartments were for. The front of the bag has a huge zipper compartment that you can easily store your phone, wallet, and it even provides a hook for your keys. While the middle compartment features two mesh, one zippered, and three internal pockets. Within the middle compartment you have an attached zipper compartment for necessities (diaper rash cream, medicine, sun block etc.), and a removable cotton terry changing mat. The back of the bag has a large zipper compartment and a dirty laundry bag. There is a removable anti-bacterial pacifier storage case clipped on the D hooks. This bag comes fully equipped with handles. You have the option to carry this diaper bag with suitcase handles, removable shoulder strap, or even stroller/grocery cart straps. I even attached the insulated cooler on the stroller straps in order to keep my hands free.
