I’m sharing this Strawberry and Banana Smoothie?in partnership with The Dannon Company, Inc. However, all opinions are of my own.
Things are changing and consumers are more concerned with what ingredients are in the food that they’re eating. I mean it makes sense because essentially, as they say “you are what you eat.” So today I’m super excited to share one of my favorite smoothie recipes with you because this Strawberry and Banana Smoothie uses Dannon yogurt, a brand who has pledged to make their yogurt products more natural.
Consumers spoke and Dannon listened. Dannon has taken a pledge to use fewer, more natural and?Non-GMO ingredients in their Dannon Whole Milk yogurt?by the end of 2017. Dannon Whole Milk Yogurt will?use whole milk?as well as all natural ?ingredients with Vitamin D. They’re being more transparent in their labeling practices by letting you know if a particular products contains GMOs or is Non-GMO.
Dannon is also getting their milk from?farmers they know and who operate under Validus Certified system for more sustainable agriculture, and who have pledged to feed their cows Non-GMO feed by the end of 2017. In fact, no other conventional dairy company in the US currently provides Non-GMO feed to their cows, so Dannon will be the first! This is really exciting news because these practices will allow Dannon to share more about the agricultural practices to consumers.
What it all boils down to is that Dannon has our wants and needs above everything else through their Farm to Cup story by pledging naturality, sustainable agriculture and transparency when it comes to their products. You can learn even more on the Dannon Pledge website and in this article over at Mamavation.
Dannon Whole Milk Yogurt is available in 11 tasty flavors like Strawberry, Blueberry, Strawberry Banana, Vanilla, Mixed Berry, Raspberry, Cherry, Orange Cream, Key Lime and Strawberry Kiwi. At an average price of just 55 cents each, they’re pretty darn affordable too!
As a mom, I definitely feel better giving my boys Dannon Whole Milk Yogurt because I know what they’re getting is good and wholesome. Yogurt helps us to maintain a healthier lifestyle and also helps balance our gut bacteria, or cultures. One interesting fact that I learned is that yogurt is easier to digest than other dairy products because yogurt is a fermented food and the active yogurt cultures consume much of the lactose found in milk.
My family loves yogurt and we eat it alone as a snack, with fruit and granola mixed in for breakfast and even as an ingredient for other meals and snacks. Dannon Whole Milk Yogurt is our first choice for yogurt and the #1 ingredient in our Strawberry & Banana Smoothie! With just 3 ingredients, it’s such a simple thing for me to whip up for the boys’ breakfast before they take off for school in the morning!
