So I’ve really tried to keep up on my skin for as long as I can remember. I started moisturizing at a very young age, and was conscious of what I was using to wash my face with as well. Fast forward 20 years or so (I am now 35) and I think I did a pretty good job. I use my eye cream, my moisturizer, night cream and spf. There are, however, some areas that I really haven’t paid attention to- and once the opportunity came along for me to review the Lip Plump System and Line Refine from SkinMedica– I looked. And let’s just say that I wasn’t exactly crazy about what I saw.

I took a (quite unflattering) picture of my mouth the day I received everything so that I would be able to compare. I am always a little bit skeptical of those before and after pics, so I thought that I would do one for myself.

So I’d like to point out here the lines around my mouth- which I never really noticed before. Here, I began to apply the Line Refine hoping that it would be able to do some work erasing or ‘refining’ those lines! Next, I would like to call attention to my lips. I don’t hate my lips- but what does bother me is that the texture seems to be rougher than I’d like it to be- and I feel like I ALWAYS have to be wearing gloss/chapstick/etc. I don’t have those old lady cracks around my lips (ugh-yet) and this Lip Plumper System actually does assist in keeping those at bay (so they say). Since I wasn’t going to be aging 40 years in the time it took me to do this review- guess we will just have to wait and see on that one. Without further ado, here is my after:

Well the irony here is that the lines on the side of my mouth actually appear more pronounced in the after! Ha! I only used the Line Refine over a couple of weeks- so my guess is that use over time will help knock those out or at least make them less visible. Obviously something that I need!! The Line Refine

And I suppose that the texture of my lips isn’t really obvious here- but I can tell you that they FEEL better. Not as dry- but definitely smoother and softer. I probably used the Lip Plumper System twice a day for the two weeks, missing a day here or there. The Lip Plumper has a step 1 and a step 2 in the system.

I liked the way the the Lip Plumper system feels on my lips. Look, I’m in the house most of the day- I don’t need to wear lipstick or anything to impress anyone- but I DO like it when it feels like something is on my lips smoothing them. This lasts a while- and I didn’t have to keep reapplying it throughout the day. And it can’t hurt to improve the texture in the process, right? Great stuff!

Overall: I recommend both the Line Refine and the Lip Plumper System. I am very grateful that I was given the opportunity to sample some of their other fantastic moisturizing and eye cream products as well- and am happy to say that the entire line gets a thumbs up from me. ?
