I love being in the kitchen. I make a home cooked meal almost every night for dinner and while I love to do it, sometimes it can take forever. For Christmas this year I will be cooking for our family at our house, but I’ve decided to change things up a bit. This year I’ve decided it was time to try out a pressure cooker to help with decreasing my cooking times. I tried the T-fal Clipso pressure cooker and I honestly don’t know how I’ve lived my entire adult life having never used this – it’s amazing!
The T-fal Clipso is a 6.3 QT stainless steel pressure cooker that is incredibly easy to use. While I know my way around a kitchen, I always get a little nervous using a new appliance for the first time, but this was pretty foolproof. It features a unique one-hand system allowing you to open and close the lid with only one hand and there’s even a steam release valve for added safety. Since it’s made from stainless steel it’s dishwasher safe (excluding gasket and pressure valve) and guarantees an extended lifetime. It also comes with a steam basket, stand, and a great recipe booklet that I used to prepare my first meal in it: butternut squash risotto.
One of my favorite things to eat and least favorite things to cook is risotto. Risotto is one of those things that takes close to an hour and you have to watch and stir it the entire time. I have an Italian family and this is something I would love to make for Christmas dinner, but simply do not have the time to stand at the stove stirring for an hour. When I saw the recipe for butternut squash risotto in the recipe booklet and that it only took 7 minutes to cook, I had to try it. Cooking with the Clipso is simple, you just place it on a stove top burner and cook inside of it like a normal pot. Then when you’re done, you close the lid and wait for the steam. After 7 minutes I had perfectly done risotto and no stirring required! I’m thrilled to be able to make this for Christmas this year and I know my family will be too.
Now that cooking risotto has become easy, I needed an easy way to clean up. This is where the Zabada Kitchen Handy comes in. This is a chemical-free cleaning solution that only requires water to use and removes 99.9% of bacteria . It has two sides: one for grime like on sinks, appliances, baking pans, etc and the other side is for grease like on the stove top, inside your oven, and range hoods. It’s made from two advanced microfibers, is machine washable, and lasts for up to 2-3 years. Using it made cleaning up my Clipso no problem at all.
This Christmas, cooking and clean-up will be a breeze for me with the T-fal Clipso and the Zabada Kitchen Handy. These are definitely my two new favorite things to use in my kitchen and I foresee them getting a lot of use this holiday season and beyond.
