This is my Mother’s recipe. She made this amazing Caramel Corn for my sons Halloween treat bag and I immediately called her up and asked her for the recipe. It would make a wonderful treat for a Thanksgiving candy dish!
Ingredients:
5 quarts of Popcorn
1c of Butter
2c of Brown Sugar
1/2c of Corn Syrup
1tsp of Salt
1/2tsp of Baking Soda
1tsp of Vanilla
1 16oz Jar of Peanuts
- Pop your Popcorn and mix with the Peanuts.
- Pre-heat oven to 250′
- On Med. Heat Melt Butter, Stir in Brown Sugar, Corn Syrup and Salt and bring to a boil, stirring consistently.
- Once it is boiling do not stir for 4 minutes.
- Remove from Heat and add Baking Soda and Vanilla.
- Pour over Popcorn & Peanuts.
- Pour out the Popcorn & Peanuts onto shallow baking pans and bake in the oven for 1 hour; stir every 15 min.
- Cool Completely before breaking apart.
- Add some colorful Candy Corn and find a pretty dish!
