Winter Wishes – Woozie Wine Insulator Review

Woozie was a brilliant idea by Founder and President Julia Sherron in the hot, sultry summer of 2008. Julia, her husband Frank, and sons Haynes and Neill, were entertaining friends at the beach when Julia commented that she wished she had an insulator for her wine glass like they make for cans. She was tired of dealing with a drippy glass and warm wine. In that split second, the concept for a wine insulator?a Woozie?was born.

I’m not the worlds biggest wino. In fact, since having a kid, I’ve cut back on the alcohol a lot. But, I do enjoy a glass of wine here and there. And I tend to enjoy two or three when in the warm presence of my best friend. The norm though, is about a glass every two weeks. I’ve slowly grown to enjoy the taste of a dry red but I prefer the sweet white! (Oh, don’t look at me that way! I should enjoy the flavor of my drink, right?) If you drink wine, you know that a lot of whites and even a few reds are served chilled. Well, as I nurse my wine, I’m usually left with half a cup of unfinished, warm wine that just is no longer appealing! Well, with a Woozie, I no longer have to worry about that!

What is a Woozie? Think of it as a special glove, made to fit to your standard 8-14 oz white wine glass. You simply place an empty wine glass inside and adjust the pull chord. Woozies are made from top quality neoprene which makes them washable, stretchable, foldable, and provides amazing insulation! This also makes them soft and slightly squishy,  I sipped on my chilled wine in comfort for a longer period of time, without the fear of my hand warming my glass or wine!

I was lucky enough to be sent two different styles to try out! (Which means I may have had twice the amount of wine I normally do…) After looking over the website, I opted for two Woozies: The Houndstooth Black and White and Original Designer Zebra with Pink Monogram-R! I have to say, the pictures do not do these prints justice! They are impeccably designed with no stitch out of place! The Houndstooth is such a classic design, it made me glass feel a little more posh! I was even kind enough to let my sister-in-law use it while visiting for Thanksgiving. (Oh, is my halo shining again?) Now, I’m not big on animal prints, but the Zebra print just screamed fun and youthful to me! It’s a fun, quirky design and with the added touch of a big pink R, it just had to be mine! It’ll be the perfect Woozie to use when girl’s wine night is reinstated after the holidays!
