I pretty much forget everything if it isn’t written down, so carrying a notebook at all times is essential for me. These little refillables can be made for next to nothing and are great for jotting down shopping lists, doctor appointments, my kid’s names, why I’m mad at the Hubby, etc.
- 4×6 blank index card, recycled greeting card or card stock
- paper of any kind
- thread or embroidery floss
- ruler, if you want
- scissors or paper trimmer
1. Fold your index card in half. Set aside.
This is my method:
- Fold your sheet of paper in half and then half again (quarters).
- Unfold and cut the horizontal middle line and the vertical middle line.
- Fold each quarter in half horizontally and stack together to form a booklet
3. Put your booklet inside your cover and trim if necessary. Flatten and use ruler to mark to equally spaced dots in fold, mine are 3/4 of an inch from top and bottom edges of cover.
4. Use your needle and make holes and each dot. String thread through each hole and tie bow on the outside of cover. When you have used all the paper, just untie thread and add another booklet.
Old greeting cards are great for these and you can make them any size you want. You can use any paper to fill them, printer paper, construction paper, scrap, notebook paper and even pretty stationary if you want. These also make great little gifts for teachers, office workers, or Secret Santa gifts when tucked in a mug with a pen and a couple extra booklets.
