There was once a time when you could give your son an action figure and your daughter a baby doll for Christmas and they were perfectly content for the next several months.
Times are ever-changing and now, more than ever, we have a generation of kids who are quite tech savvy. This requires us being a bit more knowledgeable and creative when it comes to purchasing gifts that they will absolutely enjoy.
If you’re about to do some holiday shopping and you’re wondering about what some great gift ideas are for your own little techie, we have seven pretty cool suggestions that are sure to put a smile on their face without breaking your budget:
Fisher-Price Kid-Tough See Yourself Camera. If you have a little one who can’t seem to keep their hands off of your own mobile phone or digital camera, Fisher-Price has a camera that will pacify their urges. It has downloadable software, kid-friendly controls and a rotating lens. Your child can ever use it to record video.
Boogie Board 8.5-Inch LCD Writing Tablet. Growing up, a lot of us had an Etch-a-Sketch; now there’s something called a Boogie Board tablet. Basically, it’s an LCD chalkboard that is 1/8″ thin, has a pressure-sensitive writing surface and can erase any kind of drawing that was made with the simple push of a button.
VTech Cogsley Learning Robot. If you’ve been doing some PC wholesale research in order to get your child their first computer, you might actually want to start off by getting them something like a robot instead. VTech’s learning robot walks, talks, sings and teaches all kinds of things. Plus, it has an auto shut-off for when kids wander away and forget to turn him off. There’s also the added bonus of a volume control for the days when you would prefer that the robot be seen and not heard.
iPad Mini. For the teen in your life, you might want to consider purchasing an iPad mini. With all of the features that an iPad has, one of the cool things about the “mini’s” extremely portable size is that it can easily slip into a backpack or purse. It also can fit into a pillowcase, so make sure that you set some usage hours if this is the option that you choose to go with.
Color Changing LED Showerhead. Sometimes, it’s the simple things that bring so much joy. Your adolescent daughter has to shower every day, so why not get her something that will make the experience just that much more enjoyable? LED has a showerhead that has a light that actually changes the hue of the water into bright neon shades. Very cool.
Handheld DVD Player. Kids and teens never get tired of watching movies, so why not get them a DVD player that fits comfortably in the palm of their hand? They can take it on family trips in cars and also on the plane.
An Apple gift card. If your child is so advanced that you’re not really sure what to get them, it never hurts to invest in an Apple gift card. That way, they can get exactly what they want and when it comes to receiving the appropriate kind of gift, it really doesn’t get much better than that!
