When my little girl saw this in my kitchen, her eye’s lit up and that’s all she talked about. So right away I opened the manual for ingredients, wrote them down, and headed to the grocery store.
To be honest the only thing I couldn’t understand was the measurements, this maker is from another country so everything was in oz, for instance 6.76 oz. No worries, Sakar sent me an alternate measurement sheet so I could easily translate it to mL. I wrote the alternate measurements I used below.
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup Confectioner’s Sugar
- 200 ml Skimmed Milk
- 200 ml Heavy Cream
- few drops vanilla extract
- Place egg yolk and sugar in a glass bowl and beat together.
- In a saucepan slowly bring the milk to boiling point, then pour onto the egg mixture beating together.
- Return the mixture to the pan and stir constantly until it thickens, and coats the back of your spoon.
- Do not let the mixture boil.
- Remove from heat, and let it cool. Stir in the cream and vanilla.
- Pour the mixture into the freezer bowl with the paddle running(#2 pictured above). Turn the machine to 20 minutes(#1 pictured above). Allow to freeze until the desired thickness.
Custard is one of my favorites, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed this! Rich, creamy and delightful! Next time I’m definitely going to double the recipe so the rest of my family can get some too! Just kidding the kids got a few bites!
