Today, March 7th, is National Cereal Day. We eat a lot of cereal in our house, but sometimes it’s hard to find healthy (preferably organic) cereal options that taste good. I was thrilled to get to try Nature’s Path cereals because not only are their products organic, they’re Fairtrade Certified and Non-GMO Project Verified. I don’t buy a lot of food that comes in boxes, but when I do, those are the things that I look for.
Nugget loves cereal. He feels like such a big boy when he can scoop the cereal onto the spoon and make it to his mouth without dropping any. EnviroKidz, Nature’s Path selection of kids cereals, comes in a variety of different flavors and are made with ingredients I feel comfortable feeding my son. Nugget got to try the Peanut Butter Panda Puffs. He loves peanut butter so this was perfect for him and I even snuck a few bites when he wasn’t looking. The best part about this cereal is it didn’t get soggy; he kept saying it was so crunchy even though it had been in milk for a while. If there’s one thing we don’t like, it’s soggy cereal; thankfully this was not a problem with Nature’s Path cereals.
I decided to do something a little different with my cereal so I used it to make muffins. Nature’s Path has a recipe section on their website that has all sorts of recipes you can make using their cereal and there are more than just for breakfast options – from parfaits to Spinach and Feta Pie, there is a lot you can make with Nature’s Path cereal. I decided to make the Granola Breakfast Muffins using the Flax Plus Pumpkin Flax Granola.
