To extend the life of your soap, keep it in a dry, cool place when not in use. Using a soap dish that drains well helps prevent the soap from becoming mushy and dissolving too quickly.
The lasting power of the scent depends on the essential oils used. Typically, the scent lingers on the skin for a few hours after use, but it won’t be overpowering.
It depends on how often you use it and how well you store it. Keeping it dry between uses by placing it on a soap dish can extend its life, usually lasting a few weeks.

What do I need to make this pumpkin soap bar?
- Jack o lantern soap mold
- Microwave safe 4 cup measuring cup with spout
- Craft stick for stirring
- Spray bottle with alcohol
Ingredients:
- ½ pound melt and pour soap base, divided
- 9 drops Vanilla fragrance oil, divided
- 9 drops Apple fragrance oil, divided
- ¼ tsp Orange mica
- ⅛ tsp Purple mica

How to make pumpkin soap bar
Chop the soap base into eight 1-inch pieces. Place five cubes in a measuring cup and heat on high for 30 seconds at a time, stirring thoroughly after each interval until melted. Add six drops of each fragrance oil and mix in the orange mica powder. Stir until the color is even. Pour the mixture into two jack-o’-lantern mold cavities. If you want fewer bubbles, spray with rubbing alcohol.

Next, put the remaining three cubes into the measuring cup and heat on high in the same 30-second intervals, stirring well each time until melted. Add three drops of each fragrance oil and mix in the purple mica. Stir until the color is uniform. Pour this into one jack-o’-lantern mold cavity. Again, spray with rubbing alcohol if desired to minimize bubbles.

Let the soap harden for two hours before taking it out of the molds.
