Since the dry ice is just for a fun and spooky effect, you will be glad to know that dry ice starts to smoke as soon as you put it into liquid. Can you buy dry ice over the counter?
Dry ice is readily available at many grocers, and you can easily get it in the larger chain stores. Finding it at a small, local grocer may be difficult, so you’re likely better off heading to the larger stores to begin with.
How much punch do you need for 50 people?
If you plan on serving this punch recipe to a crowd of people at a party in a punch bowl, the rule of thumb is that the average guest will have 4 drinks. Assuming that you will be serving the drinks in 4 oz punch cups, you will need about 800 ounces of punch.
This recipe that I am sharing below makes a 6 oz cocktail, so you would want to multiply this recipe times 133. For 50 people, you would 133 ounces each of rum and vodka, then 532 oz of fruit punch.
