Just in time for the school year comes a new title in the fan-favorite Teen Titans Go! graphic novel series. TEEN TITANS GO! TO CAMP! written by Sholly Fisch and illustrated by Marcela DiChiara and more gives your kids a final summer fling by reading about the Titans at Camp Apokolips.
Summer’s in the air and the Teen Titans are leaving Jump City behind for six fun-filled weeks of mosquitoes, sunstroke, and poison ivy at summer camp!
What the Titans don’t realize until they arrive is that this is Camp Apokolips, where the “bug juice” is made with real bugs, the swimming pool is a fire pit, and the lunch lady is Granny Goodness! Things only get worse when they encounter the bunks they’ll be competing against in the camp’s games: the Titans East and the H.I.V.E. Five! Given all of that, there’s only one thing on Robin’s mind…
No, not escape. It’s how to beat the other bunks to become the camp champions. This is Robin, remember?
This graphic novel is unique because artists Agnes Garbowska, Dario Brizuela, Abifail Larson, Emma Kubert, Leila del Duca, Erich Own, Jamal Igle, and Franco are all drawing a different letter sent home from camp at the end of each chapter, so you can see how these Teen campers really feel about their camp experience! The Teen Titans are ALWAYS funny and this graphic novel is no different! Robin is his usual self as he wants to WIN no matter the cost when it comes to beating their camp rivals. Just make sure no one mentions a tasty camp treat…s’mores! I only wish my daughter had been able to actually attend sleep away camp this year because this would have been perfect to mail to her in a care package!
This title is listed for readers ages 8-12 (grades 3-7) and that is spot on for my own 3 and 6th grade girls. They both sat down to read this graphic novel and they did not get up until they had finished reading it. I will say my 6th grader is still obsessed with graphic novels so she has actually read it twice. We were already fans of Teen Titans Go! and even as adults we enjoy those wacky teenage super heroes and their hilarious personalities. Even though this title is extremely funny and would constantly make me smile it also focuses on kindness, cooperation and helping others. Teen Titans Go! To Camp! is now available in print and digitally!
